A proper handrail means standard tempered laminated glass, first-grade stainless hardware, correct sealing of connection points and precise adjustment — all four separate professional work from a showpiece in the months that follow.

1Handrail Types We Install
Tempered Laminated Glass Handrail (Frameless)
- 8+8 or 10+10 mm tempered laminated glass with polished, mirror-finished edges
- Frameless installation with stainless clamps or base (shoe) rails — an all-glass look with open views
- Can be combined with a stainless or timber handrail on the top profile
Fixed Pond Handrail
- Glass fixed with stainless pond fittings to the structure or the parapet rail
- Suited to terraces, tower balconies and all-glass facades where framing is unwanted
- Connection points sealed with EPDM gaskets and structural adhesive — no rust, no stains
German-Style Stainless Handrail (Stigmat)
- German-design profiles and hardware with a mirror or satin finish
- A combination of stainless handrail tube, steel posts and glass or perforated panels
- A classic-modern look; the most popular choice for office and residential lobbies and stairs
Embedded (Base-Set) and Surface-Mounted Handrails
- Embedded: the tube and base plate are cast into the slab — the cleanest connection, ideal when executed together with the concrete works
- Surface-mounted: fixed onto finished concrete or tile with flanges and expansion anchors — no demolition, ideal for renovations
- Our technical office chooses between the two systems based on the project stage and the floor details
CNC Metal Handrail (New)
- CNC-cut metal panels (aluminum, stainless, galvanized) with the project's bespoke pattern
- Logos, graphic patterns and openwork designs in the handrail balusters
- Combined with glass and LED lighting — a visual signature for lobbies and storefronts
Illuminated & PVD Stainless Handrail
- A concealed LED strip inside the profile or under the handrail — nighttime lighting for corridors, stairs and lobbies

4Technical & Safety Notes
- The standard handrail height for balconies and terraces is 110 cm; in lobbies it follows the facade regulations
- Lateral load control (hand pressure and crowd force) in the design of base plates and posts
- Glass edges must be polished and, in frameless systems, laminated — tempered glass alone is not recommended for handrails
- Waterproofing and insulation of the base-plate connection to the slab to prevent water penetration to the floor below

Custom execution detail
Three base installation methods in one drawing: embedded (the strongest), surface-mounted (the fastest) and patch fittings for the glass. Choosing between the three is a trade-off between budget and rail height.
Part-by-part notes:
- 1Main posts in 304/316 stainless steel with 2 to 3 mm wall thickness — a cheap hollow post vibrates under heavy traffic; filling it with an internal reinforcing profile is the answer.
- 2Patch-fitting clamps — the glass is restrained to the post with two drilled patch fittings; the bolt torque must be uniform, otherwise the glass sits under permanent flexure.
- 3Laminated toughened glass 10+10 (or 8+8 for light traffic) — laminated is mandatory; toughened on its own only shatters into fragments and is not a fall barrier.
- 4German-style handrail (brushed stainless), 50 mm diameter — the rail must be capable of taking a 1 kN/m lateral load (the standard traffic load).
- 5Surface-mounted base with a steel plate and threaded anchors — suited to a finished floor; for waterproofed balconies, the embedded option (item 6) is preferred so water cannot pass through the sleeve.
- 6Embedded installation — the post is grouted into a concrete bed with non-shrink grout; the strongest method for pool edges and open terraces, but it must be cast in before the final flooring is built.
