Specialist Aluminum Composite Facade Installation
Aluminum composite facades have been used for years in office and commercial projects, towers and urban signage. If the system is not executed with correct substructures, cutting and joints, it quickly runs into problems such as waviness, bowing, water penetration and a poor appearance.
Namakaran Fakher Engineering Co., with real hands-on experience across composite installation types (fixed, hung, H-and-L, etc.), covers the full scope from design to installation — including 29,000 m² of composite cladding across four 22-story towers of the Aftab 22 complex. We source every sheet type — from Premium Bond, Nanoband Shiraz and Alomax (made in Iran) to Alcobond (Germany), Alubond (USA), Hyundai (South Korea) and Saray (Turkey) — directly from factories and primary importers.
1Advantages
- Low weight and reduced dead load
- Can be folded, curved and shaped into dynamic forms
- Wide range of colors and finishes (metallic, plain, wood-grain, stone-look, etc.)
- Relatively fast installation with replaceable panels
2Technical Notes & Execution Details
- Steel substructure design (usually galvanized steel) with standard spacing based on wind calculations and panel weight
- Accurate dimensional survey and preparation of a cutting layout (Nesting) to optimize sheet usage
- Panel cutting and folding with proper machinery
- Provision for expansion joints and rainwater drainage paths
- Design of corners, folds, curves and entrance signage
3Composite Installation Types We Execute
Flat Composite (Flat Panels)
- Flat panels with open or closed joints — the most common and most economical type
- Suited to office and commercial facades with clean, orderly lines
Linear Composite (Linear Rail)
- Continuous horizontal or vertical lines with matching separator profiles
- Creates rhythm and visual order; the first choice for modern towers
Shaped & Curved Composite
- Folding, curves, slopes and three-dimensional forms with CNC bending machines
- Suited to entrance canopies, large signage, wind catchers and special architectural forms
Box / Volumetric Composite
- Built-up boxes and protruding volumes for depth and shadow on the facade
- Integrated with linear lighting along the box edges
4Composite Execution Details (the Heart of Build Quality)
The difference between a lasting installation and a temporary one lies in exactly these details. We execute all four principal details to standard, and in your project's shop drawings we specify precisely which elevation is built with which detail.
Hang Detail — Suspended Panel
- All four panel edges folded, then hooked onto the horizontal/channel rails of the substructure
- No visible fixings on the face; open joints with drainage behind the work
- Suited to large facades that need easy panel replacement
Fixed Detail on Aluminum
- Panel fixed with screws/rivets to an aluminum profile substructure
- The lightest combination; suited to towers and high wind loads
- The aluminum's thermal expansion matches the panel — no waviness later
Fixed Detail on Steel (Steel Substructure)
- Fixing to galvanized box and channel sections with brackets and screws — more economical for large areas
- Requirement: full anti-rust coating of the substructure and a separator between steel and aluminum
- Widely used for entrance signage, commercial frontages and occupied buildings
H & L Profile Detail
- Concealed panel fixing with H and L profiles — a clean, uniform joint with no visible screws
- Adjacent panels lock into the H profile and the panel edge is received by the L profile
- A uniform, premium look; the first choice for lobbies and glassy commercial facades
5Installation Systems
Fix System
- Panels fixed with screws and rivets onto the substructure
- Joints sealed with suitable adhesives and tapes
Hang System
- All four panel edges folded and suspended on rails and channels
- Open joints with a water drainage system behind the work

The panel with four-side folding hangs on the substructure rail; no visible screws and an open drainage joint.
- • Four-side panel folding hooked onto the horizontal rail
- • No visible holes on the panel face
- • Ideal for large facades with easy panel replacement
