Tempered & Double-Glazed Glass Prices in 1405 + Thickness Guide
What are the Aban 1405 prices of 6, 8 and 10 mm tempered glass and double-glazed units? An approximate per-square-meter table, the difference between tempered and laminated glass, and which thickness is enough for partitions, handrails and balconies.
Every building needs glass — partitions, doors, handrails, balconies and facades. That is why 'What does tempered glass cost?' is the question we hear most, right after 'What does a facade cost per meter?'. In this article we give the approximate ranges for Aban 1405, and then explain why two sellers quote two different numbers — and both are telling the truth.
Approximate prices for Aban 1405 (per square meter, material): 6 mm tempered glass runs about 900,000 to 1.4 million Toman; 8 mm tempered about 1.4 to 2.2 million; 8 mm tinted tempered, such as smoke or bronze, about 1.6 to 2.6 million; 10 mm tempered about 1.8 to 3 million; and double-glazed tempered units about 3.5 to 7 million Toman depending on the two glass layers and the gas fill.
Why are the ranges so wide? Three main reasons: the thickness and the factory brand; the size of the order (an order of 5 meters does not get the same price as an order of 500 meters); and the type of glass — plain float, tinted, matte, patterned and laminated each carry their own price. Factory list prices also change from day to day; the figures in this article are a starting point, not an invoice.
How do you choose the thickness? Our rule of thumb from the field: partitions and ordinary doors take 6 or 8 mm; handrails and large doors take 10 mm and up; facades and spider glazing depend on the span and the height. The larger the span, the thicker the glass. Glass thicker than needed is just extra money; thinner than needed is a risk. Tell us the span dimensions and we will answer precisely.
The most important purchase decision is tempered or laminated? Tempered glass is 4 to 5 times stronger than ordinary glass, but when it breaks it crumbles into small pieces. Laminated glass (two layers with a PVB interlayer) stays in place when broken. For stairways, handrails and anywhere above people's heads, our recommendation is non-shattering laminated — the price difference only becomes clear when it is already too late.
Why is double glazing more expensive? Because it consists of two glass layers plus a spacer frame, argon gas and two-stage sealing. In return, it noticeably reduces both sound and heat transfer. For curtain wall facades it is practically the standard, and a large share of the price of a curtain wall is precisely this glass.
One buying warning: glass prices are quoted without transport and cutting, and glass is a fragile commodity — non-specialized transport means risking the entire value of the order. If the order is small, arrange delivery from the same seller; if it is a project, check that transport and insurance appear as separate lines in the execution estimate.
